Nungwi and Kendwa

Exploring Zanzibar’s north beach resorts is extremely rewarding, whether you stay at Nungwi beach,or Kendwa beach. Both are approximately an hour’s drive from Stone Town.

Located on the island’s far north, Nungwi is one of the largest settlement in Zanzibar, with a population of more than 5000 people. Nungwi is well-known for its golden sand beach, which is considered one of the best in the world. It’s the most popular resort in the north, offering a diverse selection of beach hotels, restaurants, and pubs.

Jet Skiing, scuba diving, paragliding, and other water activities are available in Nungwi. During the day, the beach is normally quiet, but it’s a nice location to relax and refresh if you want to. There are various hotels in Nungwi, including Diamonds La Gemma dell’Est and Essque Zalu Zanziba.

Kendwa is located on the west shore, overlooking the little Daloni island and the bigger Tumbatu island.

Mnemba Atoll

Mnemba Atoll is Zanzibar’s most well-known conservation area because to its crystal clear water, quantity of fish, and colorful wall dives. When visiting Mnemba Atoll, there is always the possibility of seeing dolphins, and once on the island, the colorful coral is nothing short of mesmerizing. Zanzibar is home to numerous fish species, including massive trevally, yellow snappers, barracuda, eels, and many others.

Despite the fact that the island is private,, the boats will anchor close to the shore, allowing you to explore the adjacent reefs while standing on the water’s edge. As some people will take a risk and jump from the top of the boat into the ocean, while others will snorkel away from sight.

As soon as you’ve had enough time to enjoy yourself, you’ll be taken back to the mainland by boat. However, you can’t leave until you have enjoyed some delicious grilled fish served with rice and tasty sauce at the nearby island.
