Jozani Forest
This is part of “Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park”, a tropical natural reserve forming an important ecosystem.
The high, dense ground water forest is famous for being home to the Red Colobus Monkey, a very rare species only found in Zanzibar. A guide will show you to small colonies of these unusual primates. However, the tropical rain forest with its lush vegetation is an attraction itself. Other animal to be seen includes, Blue Sykes Monkeys, elephant shrews, butterflies, birds, snakes, lizards and bush babies.
At the Kinyasini village, a local will show and explain how the coconut is essential for the villagers. You can participate and learn how to remove the husk and witness the grating process.
At the Mkokotoni fish market you can see the variety of fish caught in the Zanzibar Sea. Then, we visit a local blacksmith showing how to manually make nails.
Lunch will be taken at the beach restaurant in Nungwi where you will be given the chance to take a splash into the turquoise blue water. So do not forget to bring your swim wear!
In Nungwi you will witness how wooden dhows are built. Last stop is the “Baraka Natural Aquarium”, which you will get to swim with sea turtles and feed them.

Note: It is half day tour and starts around 12:00pm after Jozani Forest, you will be heading to Fukuchani village. Lunch not included but can be arrange at your own cost.
North Coast Tour
